Holmdel Motorcycle Accident Claims Man’s Life

In a tragic turn of events, a motorcycle accident recently claimed the life of a 39-year-old man from Pennsylvania. The man was declared deceased at the scene after crashing his motorcycle into a tree on Holmdel Road in Holmdel, New Jersey.

The event occurred just prior to 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14th. The man, identified as 39-year-old Filip Simon, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, was reportedly driving a 2013 Honda motorcycle on Holmdel Road when the vehicle left the roadway, subsequently colliding with a tree. When officials arrived at the scene, Simon had suffered traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Investigators from the Holmdel Township Police Department are still attempting to determine the precise cause of the accident and have asked that any and all information pertaining to the incident be provided to the Holmdel Police Traffic Safety Unit at 732-946-4400.

Sadly, motorcycle riders are at high risk for accidents and catastrophic injuries, as they remain the most exposed drivers on the road. Some of the most common injuries sustained in motorcycle accidents include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, road rash, fractures, and scarring or disfigurement. Unfortunately, many of these accidents are preventable and may have been caused by the negligence of another driver, hazards on the roadway, or defects in the design or manufacturing of the motorcycle itself.

When you are involved in a motorcycle accident, the physical injuries often represent just a fraction of the devastation that results, considering the costs of medical expenses, rehabilitative care, the loss of income while you recover and are unable to work, and the emotional distress caused to you and your family. Considering all of these collateral consequences, it is critical to consult with a knowledgeable personal injury attorney who can comprehensively evaluate your case in order to identify if there is a party at fault. If so, this person, company, or organization may be held liable for damages and required to provide you with compensation.

In addition, if you lost a loved one in a motorcycle accident, you may have grounds to file a wrongful death lawsuit on his or her behalf. At Chamlin, Uliano & Walsh, we assist clients and their families as they seek to obtain the compensation they need to begin reassembling their lives.
