Asbury Park Prescription Drug Distribution Attorneys Discuss Dangers of Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin

Prescription drugs are powerful medical tools that are used by doctors to treat all manner of conditions. However, when prescription drugs like Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin are used without doctor supervision, those actions are not only illegal but also potentially dangerous and even fatal. Here are some of the reasons to avoid recreational use of these potent drugs:

  • Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin are all habit-forming and are generally used for short durations. Taking these medications for an extended period of time often leads to chemical dependence, larger doses needed to feel the effects, and potential withdrawal symptoms
  • They are dangerous to mix with alcohol, opioids, and other medications. These medications alter brain function and are taxing on the liver, the effects of which are compounded when consuming alcohol or opioids
  • There is a risk of overdose when administered in non-intended dosages or by non-intended methods, including snorting, chewing, or injecting the medication
  • Without consulting a doctor, some users will experience serious liver complications
  • Xanax, Valium, and Klonopin are associated with respiratory issues, liver problems, suicidal thoughts, and more. They should only be taken under a doctor’s supervision
