Monmouth County Women Allegedly Had Heroin, Prescription Drugs in Disabled Car on Stafford NJ Roadway

Stafford NJ police arrested two women who allegedly had large quantities of heroin and prescription medication in their motor vehicle.

The arrests were made around 1:30 a.m. Stafford Township police officers were on patrol when they spotted a disabled car on the grassy median in the area of Route 72 and South Union Street in Stafford, New Jersey.

The suspects include a 21-year-old Asbury Park NJ woman and a 29-year-old Eatontown NJ woman. The Stafford NJ police officers ran a check on the driver of the vehicle and learned that she had active arrest warrants out of Hazlet, New Jersey.

When police later conducted a search of the vehicle, they allegedly discovered heroin, prescription painkillers, oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects have been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including heroin possession, illegal prescription drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Asbury Park suspect was allegedly the owner of the car, so she also faces charges for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle. Additionally, she was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Meanwhile, the Eatontown suspect has also been charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and resisting arrest because she allegedly did not comply with Stafford NJ officers’ requests for her to get out of the vehicle.

After being arrested and processed, the Asbury Park suspect was taken to Hazlet police headquarters so that she could answer for three outstanding arrest warrants. The other suspect was remanded to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River NJ on a $100K bail amount.
