Specifically, officials from the Monmouth County DWI Taskforce and the Neptune Police Department will be conducting a DWI checkpoint on Route 33 from 11:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22nd to 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23rd. Michael W. Palmer, who serves as the task force coordinator, as well as the chief of the Brielle Police Department, said that drivers traveling in the westbound lanes of Route 33 may be stopped and subject to sobriety evaluations.
