Man Accused of Stealing Perfumes, Colognes from Cosmetics Company in Holmdel, NJLaw enforcement recently arrested a man accused of stealing perfume and cologne from a business located in Holmdel, New Jersey.

According to authorities, the 49-year-old suspect stole perfumes and colognes valued at more than $31,000. The cosmetics were reportedly stolen from Cosmetic Essence Innovations, a fragrance facility which is located on Highway 35 in Holmdel, NJ.

Site operators contacted the Holmdel Police Department around 3:00 a.m. after realizing that a large number of cosmetics had gone missing. The operators of the facility had determined that the suspect, an employee, stole the perfume and cologne.

When Holmdel NJ police officers arrived at the site, they saw the suspect in the parking lot. According to police, the suspect was attempting to load the stolen cosmetics into his motor vehicle.

The suspect, who lives in the Parlin area of Old Bridge NJ, was subsequently arrested and charged with theft of movable property.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the very serious theft offense charges, he faces significant criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3(a), a person who unlawfully takes property valued at more than $500 can be charged with a third-degree felony. A conviction for third-degree theft of movable property could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Additionally, the suspect could be required to pay restitution to the victims.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was transported to the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of a $15K bail amount.
