Chamlin Rosen Uliano & Walsh Awards Eighth Annual Scholarship – Stefanie N. Yacubovich

The law firm of Chamlin, Uliano and Walsh has recently awarded its eighth annual college scholarship in the amount of $500 to Stefanie N. Yacubovich of West Long Branch. Stefanie was awarded this scholarship based upon recognition of her essay from among the countless essay contest submissions. Students were challenged to answer, “If I had the power to change or modify an existing law or draft a new law, I would ask the governor to sign the following.” Stefanie proposed a bill that she believes would combat the illegal underage consumption of alcohol in our community. Her essay examined the coordinated efforts that, in her opinion, would be necessary to have a meaningful impact, including local, state and federal funding of effective enforcement programs, comprehensive youth education, and monitoring overly permissive parents and retailers of alcohol.

A senior at Shore Regional High School, Stefanie has a record of significant community service through the National Honor Society and the Interact Rotary Club. She also actively participates in programs that further her interests, including the West Long Branch Police Explorers and the New Jersey Law Enforcement Advisors Association Academy. Stefanie has also excelled in athletics, earning varsity letters in both swimming and lacrosse, as well as playing field hockey. For her well-rounded consistent high level of achievement, Stefanie has been recognized as a Future Leader of Tomorrow in the Greater Media Newspapers Special Section (Monmouth East), and was given the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award by the West Point Society of New Jersey.

With almost 40 years of experience, the law firm of Chamlin, Uliano & Walsh provides expert legal advice in the areas of negligence and personal injury, divorce, criminal law, commercial and residential real estate, workers’ compensation, employment law and estate planning, in addition to many other aspects of both personal and business-related legal needs. Located at 268 Norwood Avenue in West Long Branch, all of the firm’s partners, attorneys and staff are excited to recognize Stefanie for her essay’s thoughtful legislative proposal and for her excellent performance in study, athletics and community service. She is wished the best of luck in the fall, when she is scheduled to begin studying toward a degree in political science and criminal justice at George Washington University.
